I know you’re all at the end of your seats wondering which bathing suit I bought. Well I ended up just getting the Ruffle Twist with the black A-line skirt cover up.
Good girl! I didn’t buy both suits.
Well… I didn’t buy both suits I blogged about. I did however buy the Karla Colletto Patent Twist Underwire Bathing Suit. I just really wanted both a black and brown suit this year. ( I love how I use this blog to justify my shopping habits). The Patent Twist suit has this sleek V-neckline trimmed in patent leather.
And yes, I bought a matching Karla Colletto Patent Leather Twist Cover-up. It matches the brown suit with a similar patent leather twist design. Now I have two suits that can pass for cute dresses when I go to Hawaii?
Wait, did I tell you I am going to Hawaii?! Well, I’m going to Hawaii!!!!! My man is taking me for our five year anniversary in May and I am thrilled. So I think I deserve those two fancy suits. (Again more justification for clearly having a shopping problem, but oh well!)
Till next time…

Spring is here! That means summer is right around the corner and I am in desperate need of new swimsuit.
I started my hunt at Macys since it’s where I usually get my new suit. But after some searching I noticed Linda’s has some nice suits. I had no idea! I assumed she just sold bras and panties, so of course I was pleased to see swim wear on her site. Swim wear that is actually friendly to our curves and chests.
I am trying to decide between the Karla Colletto Dots Underwire Bathing Suit or the Karla Colletto Ruffle Twist Underwire Bathing Suit.
The Dot suit has those funky brown circles on the front which is a nice change from my old boring plain suits. However I’m a classic girl and that Ruffle Twist Underwire suit is so chic. I feel like I won’t ever get sick of the Ruffle Twist since it’s so simple yet that little ruffle accent gives it some stylish personality. And if I buy the Karla Colletto A-Line Skirt Cover-up in Black and wear it with the Ruffle Twist suit, it almost will look like a black sun dress. It’ll be perfect for sipping cocktails by the pool.
I think my decision is made, I’m going with the Ruffle Twist suit.
Knowing me, I bet I’ll write later this week and say I bought both!

Okay so now my mom is officially obsessed with bra shopping and Linda’s bra store.
She’s coming back to NYC next month and she gave me a list of must-do’s, they are as follows:
- See Jersey Boys on Broadway
- Get a hot dog at Grey’s Papaya
- Go back to Linda’s Bra store and BUY MORE BRAS!
Now I know where I get my OCD from. Mama is obsessed too!
Apparently my bother showed her how to use a computer so she’s been online crushing on the Goddess Seamless Minimizer Bra in nude and the Goddess Seamless Minimizer Bra in black.
I am beyond thrilled that my mom is lusting over a pink lacy bra! See you can be a sexy bra shopper at any age!
Now I personally don’t wear the Goddess line but these bras seem to have given my full figured mom a new found love of her breasts. if a piece of underwear can give my often grumpy mom a glowing smile I imagine it’ll do the same for anyone else in need of a bra for bigger chests.

I went to Lindas bra store this past weekend with my Mom and she fell head over heels for the Goddess Sheer Delights Bra and the Goddess Delilah Underwire Bra.
Let me just say, it was very very very fun to see my 68 year old mom go crazy over new bras (specifically a bright pink one!) My mom has always been self conscious of her fuller figure and never treats herself to fun under things. She says “who is gonna see what’s under these clothes? No one! Who wants to see what’s under these clothes? No one!”
But then she discovered the magic of Linda and was seduced by the joy a quality, well-fitting bra can bring! It was such a delight to see my shy, unassuming, mom exude a sultry sass. As a young lady she was a dolled up darlings stealing the spotlight in old photographs so I knew she had it in her to feel like a vixen again. Amazingly all it took was the right bra to bring out her inner diva.
I wouldn’t be surprised if my mom starts a bra loving blog soon too.
Actually scratch that, I would be surprised if my mom starts a blog considering
she doesn’t own a computer and has never used the Internet but I digress.
Why not help your mom reveal her inner Goddess and take her bra shopping?

My Simone Perele Paradis Bra came in the mail today it is fabulous! It has hints of lace and a stunning embroidery. It’s darling and delicate and I feel super girly when I have it on.
Am I gushing? Indeed I am. How could I not? Trust me, go get yourself one of these sweet pieces of Simone and you’ll gush as well. Also check out the Simone Perele Marquises Demi Cup Bra, it comes in aqua and peach. So adorable.
Okay fine I feel a bit lame being so giddy over a bra but hey, it’s the little things in life…

Oh Wikipedia, I know you aren’t a real encyclopedia but you are indeed my favorite source of internet info. You could be lying to me for all I know but I trust ya.
I enjoyed your explanation of brassiere history.
Particularly your exploration of fitting problems as I have had my fair share of bra drama. Wikipedia explains “To achieve perfect sizing consistently, a bra would have to be custom made, because a “one-size-fits-all” manufacturing process is fraught with difficulties. Breasts vary in the position on the chest, and in their diameters…Many of the health problems associated with bras are due to fitting problems and are discussed further below, under health problems. However, finding a comfortable fit is described as very difficult by many women, which has affected sales…medical studies have also attested to the difficulty of getting a correct fit.”
Oh so true Wikipedia, so very true.
Also true is how amazing the lift I get from the Simone Perele Eliza Contour Bra (yes I ordered more bras!) With adorable embroidery and a snug supportive shape, this bra is pretty and pretty close to perfect.

I am in love. It’s for real this time. My lover is supportive, beautiful and super sexy. Their name? Simone Perele. As in the Simone Perele Adelaide Demi Cup Bra. Oh how dreamy.
Simone came in the mail yesterday with all it’s lacy luster and sweet satin bows. With corset-like boning this undergarment brings my breasts together in perfect harmony. Forget buying the world a coke, I’d like to buy the world this bra.

Check out this interesting insight I found on theage.com “Swedish researchers claim Viking women were the first in Western civilization to look for a little support at home while their menfolk were off in their longboats.
Archaeologist Annika Larsson from the University of Uppsala says a find at Birka near Stockholm proves that the original brassieres were “designed to give lift and shape to the breast but were banned with the arrival of Christianity, which regarded their wearing as a pagan ritual”.
Cloth samples with metal fasteners and pieces of metal shaped in a circular fashion were found in the mud at a site near the capital, a former Viking settlement”
Luckily nowadays bras aren’t made from metal anymore ( well, unless you’re into that sorta thing).
